About Ouseburn Meadows Flower Farm
Ouseburn Meadows Flower Farm is nestled in the village of Little Ouseburn, close to York. We grow sustainable British flowers that just make your heart sing with joy.
From zero air miles, to protecting our wildlife, our flower growing methods are gentle on the earth, so you can buy assured of quality and environmently kind practices.
I have always had an interest in arranging flowers, an interest inherited from my Mother and Grandmother, but never taken further than doing a few wedding and funeral flowers for close friends. However early in 2021 I decided to develop a few small beds around the garden to use for cut flowers for the house and friends and as a distraction from the pandemic lockdown. But very quickly the dream of growing and arranging flowers as a business took over, and we now have almost an acre dedicated to growing flowers.
We plan for our beds to grow flowers from May through to October. Outside of this season, we supplement our bouquets with flowers grown from other local British growers, or from our friends in Cornwall and Lincolnshire. We believe that British Flowers Rock!
We cannot always predict exactly what flowers will be ready on an exact date, as that depends on many factors including the climate. But we can give you a general idea what is likely to be available. Talk to us if you have a special event in mind and we will try to work to your colour preferences as much as possible.
We arrange our flowers in a loose natural country style, and always look for alternatives to using floral foam.
At Ouseburn Meadows we like to make things a little more personal and for your flowers to work in your home. If you would like to leave us with a favourite vase we can create a fresh arrangement styled espcially for you.
